White-fleshed nectarine obtained by Vincenzo Ossani which has reached considerable importance in the years following its diffusion, positioning itself as a reference variety especially in its harvesting period. It has an upright and very vigorous tree, with medium-high productivity and an early ripening period. The fruit appears medium-large, ovoid in shape, slightly sunken apex, background color of the skin greenish-yellow with bright cherry red overcolor extended for 90% of the surface. The pulp is very compact, white in color marbled with red on the outside, balanced flavor and aroma typical of white peaches. If not managed correctly, it highlights problems related to productivity (not always constant), the shape of the fruit (rather irregular), and the flavor (which worsens significantly for fruits inserted on weak or poorly inserted mixed branches and for early harvests). In certain vintages the presence of rust and cracking
has been noted Ripening: 10 July in the South, 20 July in the North.
Recommended rootstocks: Gf 677 | Garnem | P.Montclar

The fruit is meliform with medium size, yellow skin. Flesh very firm, compact and light yellow in color. Aromatic flavor, slightly, sweet, astringent. The plant has excellent productivity.
It rightfully belongs to the category of “forgotten fruits.” Cultivated since the time of Ancient Greece, widespread in vegetable gardens and orchards until the early 1900s, now its cultivation is very limited. The scientific name Cydonia derives from Cidonia city on the island of Crete from which quinces known as “cydonee apples” came in Roman times. A very hardy, rustic plant, it prefers soils with little lime. In the past the fruits were used to perfume linens in drawers as an alternative to lavender, important, since Roman times, the phytotherapeutic use, which remained in folk medicine for a long time.
Triploid variety of un ascertained origin with vigorous tree, typically expanded, slow fruiting, good but not always constant productivity, subject to pre-harvest dropout. Fruit coarse, asymmetrical, ribbed, with yellow-greenish skin suffused with soft red in the vocated areas of Trentino, wrinkled, due to the presence of even extensive russeting. Lenticels large, not very numerous, very evident. Flesh creamy-white, tender, melting, sugary, acidulous, moderately aromatic and with high flavor characteristics. Its color is pink with shades tending toward light brown, and its complex flavor combines sweet with a slightly tart aftertaste. Et voila, here is the Pink Fig of Pisticci! This fig has the shape of a small elongated pear and its weight ranges between 30 and 50 grams, it has a skin with a green color tending to pink, leathery, excellent resistance to handling.
