FLOWERING Intermediate, Feb. 25 FLOWERING vigorous, semi-open VIGORITY normal PRODUCTIVITY very good SHAPE round CALIBER A-2A COLOR COLOUR white COLOR deep red MATURATION June 10Plants with very high vigor, needs careful pruning otherwise manifests alternating production. Very large ovoid-shaped fruits, low in sugar but very early. Ripens around June 5-10. An oil cultivar widespread in central Italy, with medium vigor and a disorderly, pendulous habit. It is characterized by high adaptability to different environments. It turns out to be well pollinated by Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo as it is self-sterile. This variety is used to pollinate Leccino. It enters production early giving consistently high quantities. Very low in oil content (12.5%). Tolerates cold fairly well but has sensitivity to cycloconium (peacock's eye) and mange. Its color is pink with shades tending toward light brown, and its complex flavor combines sweet with a slightly tart aftertaste. Et voila, here is the Pink Fig of Pisticci! This fig has the shape of a small elongated pear and its weight ranges between 30 and 50 grams, it has a skin with a green color tending to pink, leathery, excellent resistance to handling. Triploid variety of un ascertained origin with vigorous tree, typically expanded, slow fruiting, good but not always constant productivity, subject to pre-harvest dropout. Fruit coarse, asymmetrical, ribbed, with yellow-greenish skin suffused with soft red in the vocated areas of Trentino, wrinkled, due to the presence of even extensive russeting. Lenticels large, not very numerous, very evident. Flesh creamy-white, tender, melting, sugary, acidulous, moderately aromatic and with high flavor characteristics.
